A lug butterfly valve is a quarter-turn flow control device distinguished by its threaded lug design–threaded inserts on both sides of the valve body that allow it to be bolted directly to pipe flanges independently on each side.
Unlike wafer valves that are sandwiched between flanges and require full disconnection for removal, the lug design enables dead-end service: you can remove the valve from one side of the pipeline while the other side remains pressurized and operational. 1. Lug Type Design–Dead-End Service & Maintenance Isolation
Independent Pipeline Mounting–Threaded lugs on both sides of the valve body allow each side to be bolted independently to pipe flanges, enabling dead-end service–the valve can be installed at the end of a pipeline or used to isolate a section for maintenance.

3. Seat Material–WRAS-Approved EPDM
