The valve body is cast from GGG40/500-7 ductile iron and coated with a durable epoxy finish for corrosion resistance. The seat is of hard back-up construction-the elastomer (typically EPDM) is fully supported by a rigid backing molded into the body. This design prevents the seat from extruding or deforming under pressure, delivering consistent bubble-tight shut-off.
The disc is attached to the stem using stainless steel pins. This pinned connection provides positive torque transmission without relying on friction or splines, ensuring that the disc does not slip on the stem even under repeated cycling.
A manual lever allows the operator to open, close, or partially throttle the flow. The lever also serves as a clear visual position indicator-parallel to the pipe indicates open, perpendicular indicates closed.
